Want more peace of mind about your child's safety at school?

Anonymous reporting systems (ARS) have helped stop planned school shootings. They give students a safe way to tell an adult when they see or hear something concerning.

The free ARS Report Card helps you find out whether your school district has an anonymous reporting system, how well it's working, and what to do if it needs help or doesn't exist yet.

Your information is never shared, and you can unsubscribe anytime.

This is for you if:

  • ✓You'd never heard of an anonymous reporting system until now.
  • ✓You aren't sure if your child's school has one.
  • ✓You worry about whether the adults at school would hear about warning signs in time to intervene.
  • ✓You're happy to spend a little of your time to help your community have one more layer of violence prevention.
  • ✓You'd rather know where your district stands than wonder.

Meet Emily

Hi, I'm Emily!

Emily Romrell

A mom of three, an author of children's safety books, and the parent who got her district to say yes to its first-ever anonymous reporting system.

When my daughter was in kindergarten, I learned our school district didn't have an anonymous reporting system. I asked to present to our superintendent, and I came with research, real examples of how these systems save lives, and a clear plan for getting one in place. A couple of months later, the district launched one.

Afterward, I found out another parent had been asking for one for years. That's when I realized how you ask makes all the difference.

Now I'm wondering… what are the chances that my school district was the only district that didn't have one? And what are the chances I'm the only parent who could make a difference? Not likely.

So I made this Report Card. Let's find out where your district stands.

Why this matters

In almost every violent attack at a school, someone noticed something concerning ahead of time.

4.7the average number of concerning behaviors an active shooter showed before their attack.¹
2 out of 3school attacks the Secret Service studied where someone saw a warning sign and didn't report it.²

A strong anonymous reporting system makes speaking up easier. Sending a quick text feels a lot less scary than asking to meet with the principal.
